Having lived with mine since I can almost remember; I have always been intrigued on what is framed and released using the face as a life canvas. Most of my face paintings do not start with a pre meditated desire to capture faces; more the desire to liberate. They evolve as a sequence of glimpses. They are never defining; merely a portal for discovery of self and others, using a range of mediums and materials. By the end of each painting; I feel the image is observing me more than I am of it: always freeze framed and never judging.
